Support Radio 1190 through Underwriting

 

Radio 1190 creates a listening experience that is unique to Colorado and the Rocky Mountain west.  Our devotion to independent music means that the average listener is exposed to several genres and eras throughout the broadcast day. Our specialty programs focus on music that can’t be found anywhere else.

As a non-commercial, independent radio outlet, we are able to offer a lot of music over the course of the broadcast week.  Programming with no commercials is a bonus for listeners—typical for-profit stations usually air at least 20 minutes of commercials every hour—but for a station like Radio 1190, it means we must rely on our listeners and the community for financial support.

Every spring and fall, our dedicated “watt owners,” the listeners themselves, step forward to pay the programming they know and love.  To make their dollars go that much further, it is important that we also receive community support from independently owned businesses and organizations.  We thank them on the air in the form of  “Donor Announcements” or DAs, which not only gives them positive public exposure, but lets the dedicated Radio 1190 audience know that they are the kind of business that they should support with their patronage. 

When you become a Radio 1190 underwriter, you tell the audience that you support a  very unique listening experience, and that you endorse the freedom that Radio 1190 represents.  Your message reaches the audience you want.

And, as a part of a state university system, Radio 1190 is a non-profit organization.  Many sponsorships and donations are fully tax deductible.

A typical :30 DA may include the following information:

*  A description of your business or organization

*  A description of your products or services

*  Your corporate philosophy or mission

*  Your company's commitment to Radio 1190’s educational mission

*  Brand and trade names and product or service listings

*  Non-promotional corporate slogan

*  General business location

*  Web site address and/or telephone number

 

  Sponsorship Options

 

Option 1 - The Intro Package

A basic plan to give your business limited exposure and airtime.  The schedule includes five donor announcements per week, one per day in various time slots between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Package cost: $100

Per spot: $20.00

 

Option 2 – More Bang

This plan gives you the option of spacing 17 spots over a two week or one month period.  For an upcoming event, you might want to consider more spots in less time, but if your message isn’t time sensitive, then you benefit from a longer term schedule

Package cost: $300

Per spot: $17.64

 

Option 3 – Complete Coverage

This plan gives you the option of spacing 30 spots over a two week or one month period.  Basically, you may either have a spot a day for a month, or 2 spots a day for two weeks.  You can also pick your own schedule and air as many as 4 spots on a given day.

Package cost: $500

Per spot: $16.66

 

Option 4 – The Watt Trust

Our long-time supporters find this level to be best deal of all.  For an annual commitment, you receive a year’s worth of spots, 365 DA’s, to be used at your discretion.  You can spread it out with an announcement a day for a calendar year, or cluster them around special events.
